2013-02-19: Apple Computers Hacked
Level Three Attack
Today, Apple announced that it had been breached by the same attackers that breached Facebook in an earlier incident. It sounds like the same flaw in Java was used to gain access to some internal systems, although Apple claims that no data left their network.
Normally this would only rate a Level Two attack, but given that it is thought to be related to the Facebook incident, it warrants a Level Three rating due to the coordination and the stakeholders involved. Consider this a retroactive upgrade for the Facebook incident, as well.
Apple has said that they plan to release software to thwart the malware that was used in this attack.
